This project entailed translating voiceover scripts for a series of videos promoting a green financing product that simplifies funding for sustainable energy projects. The goal was to make these videos accessible to English-speaking audiences, amplifying the client’s message and expanding their reach.

The project brief called for a creative and engaging approach suitable for both internal and external use. The English voiceover had to match the relaxed rhythm of the original French, as per the client’s request – without being too wordy.

With a tight deadline for the voiceover recording and no room for error, this project demanded clear communication with the client and swift action. I ensured a 3-business day turnaround and paid close attention to terminology and text length, to match the existing video in French. To guarantee the highest quality for external use, a second linguist reviewed my work with the client’s permission.

The project delivered powerful results. With several thousand views and timely publication, the videos proved to be a highly effective marketing tool. Social media users eagerly engaged and shared, driving increased awareness of the client’s product. This project is about keeping stakeholders in the loop! I provide regular translations of quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial statements and press releases into English, ensuring that stakeholders are always up-to-date on the client’s financial performance.

This project is always a race against the clock, involving tight turnarounds, constant deadlines and multiple rounds of amendments from top management. To ensure consistency across all documents, it is vital that I pay close attention to terminology, even when working overnight to deliver press releases on time.

The Power of CSR Translation: Engaging English-Speaking Stakeholders

My task? Translate this company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report into English. Think detailed data on the environment, the community and employees. This report is crucial for corporate disclosure and showcases the company’s commitment to socially relevant themes. My job was to translate it into English to reach a wider audience and spread the company’s message of sustainability and responsibility.

Successfully communicating the company’s responsible approach to a diverse range of stakeholders, from potential investors to the general public, is crucial for gaining a financial advantage. The goal was to provide clear information about sustainability initiatives and build, reinforce and promote the corporate image. To achieve this, my challenge was to craft a clear English message that resonated with all audiences.

To effectively translate CSR reports, cultural differences must be taken into account. Italian reports require a more formal tone to display professional competence and there is less use of first-person plural references than in English reports, which rely heavily on the pronouns “we” and “our” to personify the company and build corporate identity. For this translation, it was crucial for me to reflect English-speaking conventions for the CSR genre and highlight the ethical concerns of stakeholders in an engaging way.

The result? A translation that captivates all readers! The document was successfully published on the company’s website. A happy client.

This project involved translating a letter to stakeholders and the company’s non-financial statement, as per the NFR Directive. The directive makes it mandatory for certain companies to prepare and publish a non-financial statement covering topics such as the environment, social and employee aspects, human rights, anti-corruption and bribery issues and diversity on the board of directors.

The project’s challenge: be concise, be engaging and appeal to all stakeholders. Essentially, keep it brief and impactful, delivering an English version that shines.

When it comes to the non-financial statement, companies need a compelling, authentic story that packs a punch. My translation strategy? Use consistent terms and favour dynamic verbs over static noun phrases to ensure maximum comprehension. No need for lengthy, complex sentences – let’s focus on impact and keeping it concise. Hit the mark with straightforward language that truly resonates!

The result? My English translation improved the company’s transparency, making information more accessible for investors and stakeholders, ultimately creating a greater impact. The outcome? A satisfied client and highly engaged stakeholders.
